Course Description

Quantitative analysis for evaluating new product introduction and new technology adoption are emphasized. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of accounting and financial analysis, followed by more advanced topics relevant to decision making in manufacturing settings. Topics include activity based costing, break-even analysis, capital budgeting, risk measurement and the required rate of return. The course will also explore the differences between information developed for financial reporting and the information required to make managerial decisions in a dynamic environment.
