Course Description
A contemporary course detailing recent advances in polymeric materials that respond to an excitation by changing one or more of their physical properties. Specific topics include electrorheological and magnetorheological fluids, smart gels, positive thermal coefficient, elestrospinning of fibers, shape memory alloys, piezoelectric polymers, and polymers for nonlinear optical applications.
