Course Description
This course reviews cutting edge nutrition issues related to etiology, prevention, and treatment of chronic diseases and conditions. Topics include subject areas such as the role of nutrition in cardiovascular disease, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, eating disorders, osteoporosis and infections diseases. The role of nutrition in special populations, i.e., infants, teenagers, and the elderly will be discussed. Comparative traditional and/or complementary interventions for chronic diseases and conditions will be reviewed.
