Course Description

The course is designed for students in the health and biological sciences and is offered for both undergraduate and graduate students. A general microbiology course is advised as a prerequisite. The focus of the course is the pathophysiology of infectious disease. Major infectious organisms will be discussed as biological models and presented in the way they affect major systems of the body. Emphasis will be placed on significant episodes of emerging infections and current technology in diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease in the new millennium.
