Course Description

LAN Protocol Implementation focuses on LAN protocols, using the latest version of released software on the Nortel Networks routers. The course focuses on the routing-related characteristics of four popular protocols: DECnet, IPX, AppleTalk, and Banyan VINES. Comparable to UMass Lowell's 90.461 when combined with AV0030131 WAN Protocols.

Prerequisites & Notes

  • Prerequisites: Internetworking Fundamentals course number AV0025000; Router Installation & Basic Configuration, course number AV0030080 and Router Configuration and Management, course number AV0030090 OR Accelerated Router Configuration, course number AV0025110.
  • Special Notes: Students must be enrolled in the Data/Telecommunications: Nortel Router Track certificate program and have completed at least one of UMass Lowell's Data/Telecommunications courses to receive credit for this Nortel Networks course.
