Students may select their English Department elective courses from any of the above English courses not already used toward the requirements above, or from the following list of English Department online courses. Two elective courses in English are permitted but not required at the 200 level. These may be in literature, writing, creative writing, or a combination of these. A minimum of four elective courses are required at the 300 and/or 400 level. These may be in literature, creative writing, journalism and professional writing, or a combination of these. A maximum of 27 credits are allowed within the English Department Electives.

ELECTIVE COURSES

Students choose up to 12 additional non-English courses (a minimum of 34 credits) to complete the balance of the 120 minimum credits required for the degree. Students must complete at least two of these courses at the 300 or 400 level.
