Cultivate Career Development Skills - Workshop

In this interactive workshop, you will take a few minutes to step back and reflect strategically and efficiently on where you are and where you'd like to be. Whether you're a new or recent college grad, a young professional, a new manager or an experienced executive, the better aligned your job and career are with your values and interests, the more satisfied you'll be.

Invest in Your Personal Capital - Workshop
You already have a brand, whether you know it or not. The impression you make, the way you present yourself, the work you produce, the feeling people have after interacting with you and the reputation that follows or precedes you all add up to your personal brand. Are you in control of it? Is your current personal brand an asset, a liability or just an opportunity waiting to happen? This session will explore how to define and consciously build your personal brand through long-term strategic thinking, personal insight and consistent implementation across an array of communication channels. Lorna will help you develop some tools that define and differentiate the "true you" and empower you to build a personal brand that becomes an asset to your career.

Lead, Empower, Inspire! - Workshop
Much of our "miscommunication" is actually "under-communication," in which we withhold important parts of our perspective. By doing this, we unintentionally increase the gulf between us and other stakeholders, preventing authentic conversation from taking place. In this interactive session, we will examine what stops us from sharing our truth and how to become more constructively explicit.
By the end of this session, participants will have:
- A better understanding of the psychology behind why people don't fully share their truth
- Greater self-awareness about their own communication patterns
- Practice with one or more tools for better communication

Microaggressions - verbal or nonverbal, intentional or unintentional actions and comments that convey a negative or even derogatory message - can be common in the workplace. These messages leave people feeling uneasy and marginalized. In isolation, these acts may get brushed aside or dismissed as inconsequential, but each interaction communicates that a person is "other" or an outsider. When microaggressions take place daily, weekly or monthly, they can add up to an unfavorable work environment. Take part in an interactive workshop about how to become an active bystander to address such biases.
