Women's Leadership Conversations

Why Attend a Virtual Conversation?

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the annual conference, and our desire to inspire leaders all year long, we began partnering with corporations and industry leaders in 2020 to launch the UMass Lowell Women's Leadership Conversation Series, an online complement to the in-person conference program. We invite you to join these conversations leading up to the conference and throughout the year.

The UMass Lowell Women's Leadership Conversations series is proud to present Workforce Ecosystems: Reaching Strategic Goals with People, Partners and Technologies, a virtual conversation with Assoc. Prof. Elizabeth J. Altman. Join us on April 26 for a timely and relevant discussion on a new way to manage increasingly complex and connected workforces.

In this virtual conversation, Altman will introduce and explain her multi-year research project with “MIT Sloan Management Review” and Deloitte Consulting on the future of the workforce. She will also provide an overview of her book, “Workforce Ecosystems: Reaching Strategic Goals with People, Partners, and Technologies” (MIT Press).

This interactive conversation is ideal for anyone interested in understanding an exciting new topic related to the future of work and learning more about how leaders and managers are approaching workforce-related challenges. Altman will draw on examples from her interviews with senior leaders in organizations such as Amazon, IBM, Mayo Clinic, NASA, Nike, Roche, Unilever, the U.S. Army, Walmart and others.
