Course Description

Emphasizes fundamental physiological and biochemical principles of human nutrition. Students will have an opportunity to compare their present dietary practices with recommended dietary allowances, goals, and guidelines. Nutrient excesses and inadequacies during various stages of the life cycle (pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age) will be considered. Current concepts and controversies in nutrition research, surveys, and methods will also be evaluated.
