Course Description

The focus of this course is on the advanced practice nursing role in the holistic assessment and management of health problems of the adult with a special focus on older adults within a family and community context. Evidence-based strategies to prevent and treat common health problems and to maintain and promote health through the application of advanced knowledge, theory, relevant research and critical decision making are emphasized. Community resources, pharmacological therapies, and complementary strategies are addressed.
