Course Description
Today, we are surrounded by big data
applications. Smartphone and sensor data,
medical and scientific data, financial data,
web and text data, and social network data are
just a few examples. As a result, mining useful
information and discovering knowledge from the
big data are increasingly important. It is fair
to say that, without data mining, we would not
be able to make good use of this large amount
of data. In this course, we learn the state-of-
the-art techniques in data mining and analysis.
Topics include types and properties of data,
exploring data, classification, association
analysis, cluster analysis, and anomaly
detection.
