Course Description

Focuses on the origin, thermal structure, and composition of the atmosphere; atmospheric and solar radiation, atmospheric heat budget; elements of atmospheric thermodynamics and hydrodynamics; equation of state; first law of thermodynamics; hypsometric equation; geostrophic and gradient motion; and thermal wind. Cyclones, anticyclones, fronts, waves, and jet streams. Global circulation, climate, elements of climatic change, pollution and its effect on weather and climate.
