Course Description
This course analyzes the development and significance of organized sports in America from the colonial era to the present. Topics include the relationship of sports to the evolution and economics of cities, and to community, regional and national identity. The course also will explore links between sports and race relations, struggles for workers' rights, and the modern women's movement.
