Course Description

A study of the development and character of XVIIth century Spanish drama, novel and poetry with special emphasis on Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Calderon and Quevedo. An analytical study of some of the masterpieces from structural and stylistic points of view, taking into consideration their relation to the period and the expression of universal values.
