Course Description

This course will cover a broad range of municipal issues including municipal finance, economic development, public safety, municipal operations, personnel management, the press and the media. The role of local, state and federal government partnerships are studied. Several class exercises require students to role-play the public administrator in his/her role in the public process. The case study method will be used. The City of Lowell will be used as the urban laboratory, however none of the case stories are about Lowell.
