Course Description

State of the art microprocessors are examined and compared to their eight bit counterparts. The four architectural concepts of memory segmentation, operated addressing structure, operation register set, and instruction encoding scheme are evaluated for different families of processor design. Arithmetic and logical instruction support for high performance numeric processing requirements are discussed using numeric data processors.
