Course Description
Advanced IP Routing focuses on IP routing protocols and principles not covered in the prerequisite courses. Primary emphasis is given to theory, configuration, operation and support of the OSPF protocol. Special considerations are given to OSPF areas, summary ranges and external routes. This course also includes a review of address masks, RIP, RIP 2, the use and configuration of IP route policy filters and an introduction to BGP and its basic configuration. Through hands-on exercises, this course provides you with the necessary skills to configure and manage OSPF, RIP, BGP and route policy filters. Comparable to UMass Lowell's 90.468 Advanced IP Routing.
Prerequisites & Notes
- Prerequisites: Internetworking Fundamentals course number AV0025000 or working knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies; Router Installation and Basic Configuration, course number AV0030080, and
Router Configuration and Management, course number AV0030090 OR Accelerated Router Configuration, course number AV0025110.
- Special Notes: Students must be enrolled in the Data/Telecommunications: Nortel Router Track certificate program and have completed at least one of UMass Lowell's Data/Telecommunications courses to receive credit for this Nortel Networks course.
