Course Description
Training in writing theory for direct application in peer tutoring. Discussion supplemented by experimental exercises, class presentations, reading, and writing. Meets two hours each week. Students tutor four hours each week.
Prerequisites, Notes & Instructor
- Prerequisites: ENGL 2000,or 227,or 238,or 239
- Section Notes: P: ENGL.1020. This course provides an experiential opportunity to develop marketable job skills, explore interest in teaching and discover insights into your own writing. We will study theories of teaching and tutoring writing, to writers from all disciplines. Students are required to tutor (online) other UMass Lowell students for four hours a week. Other required coursework includes an observation report, reading responses, tutor reflections and a final project. ;
