Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth analysis of human memory, from encoding (learning) through later retrieval (or Forgetting). In this course students will examine the theory and data behind both classic and modern conceptualizations of memory, with an emphasis on how these concepts apply in real life. The course content will focus substantially on empirical evidence, so understanding the scientific method in psychology is key and some review of that will be included. By the end of this course, students should have a deeper understanding and appreciation of human memory, within the laboratory and beyond.
