No, all you need to do is fill out a Non-Degree Registration Form to register for the course. If necessary, please make sure you have the required course prerequisites before registering.
You may take as many undergraduate classes as you wish prior to being admitted into a degree program. At the graduate level, you may only take two courses (6 credits) prior to being matriculated into a degree program.
Although we offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid options, they are only available to students who have been accepted to a degree or certificate program. Students may take advantage of our payment plans to split the cost into small monthly payments.
Although the tuition rate varies slightly based upon the program, undergraduate tuition for most online courses for Spring 2025 is $1155. Graduate tuition for many online courses is $1800. Please see our tuition and fees page for additional information.
The credits you earn can be transferred to more than 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. offering similar programs. Please see your institution's transfer policy to ensure UMass Lowell's college credits are transferable.
Spring courses are available in a variety of lengths throughout the year: from 8-, 10-, 12- or 15-weeks. Choose the course length that works best for you.
