Systems, Modeling and Simulations for Digital Eng

Spring 2026 > Engineering/Engineering Technology > EECE.5492 > 081

Course No: EECE.5492-081; SIS Class Nbr: 12100; SIS Term: 3530
Course Status: Open

Course Description

This course will begin with an overview of the digital transformation and digital engineering strategy being undertaken by Department of Defense divisions and programs. With a practical understanding of the concepts of systems, systems thinking and systems engineering, model-based-system engineering (MBSE) is studied. Students are led through interactive modeling exercises using the Systems Modeling Language (SySML) on the Cameo platform form Dassault Systemés. Examples of physics-based models, feedback control systems and uncertainty modeling are presented and integrated with SysML representations. Dynamic systems are analyzed with simulations carried out using the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The course emphasizes skills in project-based-learning, teamwork and effective communication between all participants in the course.
