Course Description

This course provides an introduction and overview to leadership, management, and organizational behavior in health care, reflecting the uniqueness of this sector. The course integrates theory with practice through readings, lectures, written assignments, and guest presentations from different organizational perspectives. Assessment, practice and development of leadership, managerial and organizational skills will be accomplished through team exercises and small group work. You will be encouraged to analyze your own leadership style and skills within the context of healthcare as well as interview and learn from other leaders in the healthcare setting.
